Subject: Kenwood Amateur Radio Tcl/Tk Control program - DN [1]

Jeff Pierce <piercej@preferred.com> - 15 Dec 1999 - comp.lang.tcl

Well, I finally got the first version of my first real tcl/tk program
working after getting help several times from this news group. Thanks to
 all.

It is a program to control a Kenwood TS-140/440/940 amateur radio
transceiver. I had previously written an Xforms program but, it of
course only works on Linux/Unix machines. I however, wanted it to run
 under both Linux/Unix and Windows.

Well, tcl 8.2.2 added the ability to use fileevent on serial ports and
that lifted what I considered to be the final obstacle.

So, any hams with tcl/tk who want a simple control program, here it is.
AIt has a dial and keypad for frequency entry. Plus VFO A/B, RIT and
MODE control. And, should any enterprising soul port it to another radio
brand, drop me a line about it.

 It is available at: http://pages.preferred.com/~piercej
