• wxPython 0.5.4 (alternative to Tkinter) Multi-platform GUI API. Supports MS-Windows & GTK, and soon Motif/Lesstiff & Mac. Extensive OO system including classes for tabbed dialogs, toolbars, status panels, standard dialogs (file, font, page setup), gauges, Postscript printing. Python extension module written in C++ (see DN441723951)
• gnome-python 0.99 interfaces to the GNOME widgetset, and pygtk 0.5.10 to GTK+. (alternative to Tkinter) (see DN442950299)
• PyGresSQL 2.3 interfaces to the PostgresSQL database engine. It's still not DB-SIG API compliant, but that's promised for version 3.0 (see DN444887841)
• pyrite 0.6.0 is an extension package for Palm Computing platform (Pilot, PamlPilot, PalmIII). Previously called PalmPython (see DN441726762)

• compiler framework 0.3 are classes for scanning, parsing, and AST traversal. As described in "Compiling Little Languages in Python", a paper presented at the 7th International Python Conference (see DN441726764)
• sketch 0.5.3 is a vector drawing program. Exports/Imports Adobe Illustrator files, exports Encapsulated Postscript, imports XFig. (Requires Tkinter and the Python Imaging Library) (see DN441729476)
• xmlproc 0.60 is a validating XML parser. Among other features, diagnostic messages are in Norwegian and English (see DN441729477)
• COM tutorial, as shown at the 7th International Python Conference. (Written in MS-PowerPoint 97, free viewer probably runs only on Windows platforms (?) ) (see DN441757216)
