There is a new release of the embeddable MetaKit database library.
The Mk4Tcl extension, which interfaces MetaKit to Tcl, is version 1.1:
http://www.equi4.com/metakit/mk4tcl/
The C++ source code and builds for several systems are available there.
Changes include:
- added in-memory databases (no associated file)
- added support for "scripted documents"
- added file locking (shared/exclusive)
- now based on latest MetaKit 1.8.6 release
- fixed several bugs in MetaKit and in Mk4tcl
TclKit is a standalone version of Tcl/Tk 8.0.4 (with Plus patches) which
includes Mk4tcl - binaries for Linux, Solaris, FreeBSD, Windows, are at:
http://www.equi4.com/tclkit/
Tequila is a client-server mechanism which lets you transparently share
global arrays between clients, all data is stored on a central server:
http://www.equi4.com/tclkit/tequila.html
Tequila is a Tcl-only package when used with TclKit on the server end.
WiKit is a "wiki wiki web" written in Tcl. It allows anyone with a web
browser to edit pages remotely, and is used in the Tcl'ers Wiki:
http://www.equi4.com/tclkit/wikit.html
WiKit requires TclKit or a Tcl 8.0.x system with the Mk4tcl extension.
Note: WiKit is still hard to adapt, due to the lack of documentation.
MetaKit itself is now at version 1.8.6, and has a homepage at:
http://www.equi4.com/metakit/
New on the www.equi4.com site: mailing lists and discussion areas.
Everything mentioned above can be used freely, including binaries of the
core MetaKit database engine. See the website for more information on
pricing and licensing of the full source code of the MK engine (in C++).
Comments, suggestions, questions, problem reports are always welcome.
