Subject: Scriptics Patch Page Updated - DN [1]

welch@scriptics.com - 05 Dec 1998 - comp.lang.tcl

There is a new batch of Tcl/Tk patches up on the Scriptics
 Tcl Resource Center:
 http://www.scriptics.com/resource/software/patches/

I apologize (again) for the delay in the patch moderation process.
I've finally taken time to automate the data flow from our web
form into our bug database and our web-visible patch database.
So, a human is still in the loop to weed out things that are
completely bogus, but the pain level is now so low I'm no longer
loath to read my patches mail folder. Oh, the joys of a Tcl
programmable mail reader (exmh) and database (sybtcl) and
 website (tclhttpd) :-)

Scott Stanton has been pretty diligent about evaluating patches against the
8.1 code base. Nearly all of the "Contributed" patches for 8.1 have turned
into "Adopted" or "Evaluated" (which means we declined the patch for one
reason or another). The 8.0 code base is still lagging a bit, but we still
plan to suck up most of those great patches. Exposing our whole bug database
is also still a high priority, but unfortunately there are lots of other
chores in a busy startup that have even higher priority. Please bear with us,
and I know that together we can create an incredibly solid Tcl code base.
 Thanks for all those contributions!

Remember, the best way to contribute a patch is through a form at
 http://www.scriptics.com/support/bugForm.html
If you are in the habit of using <patches@scriptics.com>, I'll
still read that, but it'll require cut/paste from a human (me) and
will surely take longer to incorporate into our database and publish
 on the website.
