I would like to add support for this idea from an unexpected corner: Python. Jean-Claude Wippler has suggested to me that there are many facilities that are present in both the Python and the Tcl runtime, and that we'd do society a favor by sharing implementation. For example, hash tables and buffered file I/O are present in both languages, and neither has something particularly exciting to add -- these are just fundamentals that each language needs. Any takers? --Guido van Rossum (home page: http://www.python.org/~guido/) -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own
