Subject: ANNOUNCE: New version of TclPro supports Linux and SGI! - DN [1]

info@scriptics.com - 08 Nov 1998 - comp.lang.tcl

Scriptics is happy to announce a Beta Test program for a new version of
TclPro. TclPro 1.1 adds support for the Linux and SGI platforms,
enhances TclPro Checker, and includes a number of bug fixes. You can
Beta Test this release now by downloading it from our website at

     http://www.scriptics.com/tclpro/eval/beta.html

The 1.1 release includes the following enhancements:

     * Added support for SGI Irix 6.2 or later.

     * Added support for Red Hat Linux 5.0 or later on the Intel processor.
We believe this release will work for any Linux distribution that
       uses the "glibc" libraries.

     * Improved TclPro Checker to check the number of arguments to
       user-defined Tcl procedures.

     * Improved TclPro Debugger to disallow breakpoints on lines
that do not start a command (e.g. whitespace, comments,
       curly braces).

     * Fixed several bugs that were reported in TclPro Checker,
       TclPro Debugger, and TclPro Wrapper.

You will receive a free 30 day license key to run the beta version.

 Upgrades for current TclPro customers:

If you have already purchased TclPro 1.0, you can use your paid-for
license keys with the 1.1 release (both beta and final). This free
upgrade is being extended to ALL of our early customers. Note,
however, that future upgrades planned for Q1'99 will be offered freely
only for Update Service customers. Visit our roadmap page to learn
 more about our future plans.
