Subject: Where to share image processing extension? - DN [1]

Eben Oldmixon <eben@ids.net> - 14 Mar 2000 - comp.lang.tcl

Over the last several years I've worked on an extension to Tcl/Tk that
has handled all the image processing and analysis chores in a biomedical
microscopy lab faced with thousands of confocal microscopy images. It
now has well over 100 commands and a 200-odd page Manual (in .pdf
format, packed with the distribution) which includes a Tutorial
consisting of typical tasks and how to solve them. (The package is
called "Zzipp" pronounced "zippy" standing for "ZZ Image Processing
Package".) It is installed presently on SGI platforms. I'd like to
share it, and I would particularly appreciate the efforts of anyone
willing to be a beta-tester. It should port relatively easily to other
Tcl/Tk-able platforms; I've tried to avoid anything clever, except
 perhaps in the algorithms.

I hope this is the appropriate place for this notice; if not, please
excuse me. (It's my first posting ever.)
