I'm somewhat aware of the issues. I do know that for the
only true (stable) 64 bit machine we have in-house, Solaris 7
on an UltraSparc, there are no known blemishes.
There are about 20 open build related bugs, a few of them
64 bit related, that I can't really test because I don't have
access to the machines. This is where community support for
such verification comes in. If someone could just make me
an account on such a machine, that would help. Machines I'd
like to see build/tests done on:
IRIX64-6.5+
Tru64
Solaris x86 (I may be getting one of these soon)
Alpha/NT
Alpha/OSF
Alpha/Linux
PPC Linux
(Free)BSD
HP 11 (with threads and 64bit)
Cray (or other 64bit int machine)
Just so people know what I build and test on regularly:
Solaris 2.5.1-2.7 (the whole 64bit/threads gamut)
HP 10.20 (gcc)
AIX 4.2 (IBM xlc)
IRIX 6.3 (not 64 bit, MIPSPro cc)
x86/NT (VC++5)
x86/Linux (Redhat6.1, gcc)
