INTRODUCTION

Oedipus is a collection of classes and modules, written in Python, for maintaining a hierarchical directory of Web links. You can use it to maintain your own collection of links, or you can use the XML dumps produced by the Open Directory Project (ODP).

REQUIREMENTS

Currently the requirements of the Oedipus code are:

 * Python 1.5.2 or any later version of Python.
 * The Distutils package, used for installing Oedipus
 * Metakit

Sample code is included to display an ODP database through both Zope and a regular CGI script.
